I don’t know about you personally, but for me, having family over for the holidays is extremely stressful — during those times, I always feel pressure to make sure everything is perfect. Everything has to be clean, the nice towels have to be out and rolled up just right, the carpets have to be spotless, etc. etc. The list goes on, and on, and on. I stress about the event for months. I know that holiday parties are supposed to be fun, but I think the experience for a lot of us is that they’re only fun for the guests, but a lot of work and stress for the host. Maybe I’m just scarred for life!
The first holiday family event we hosted was when were 21 and we had just purchased our house. We decided to have everyone over for Easter, but had only lived in our home for about a month at the time. We were cooking a large batch of potatoes on the stove while trying to entertain close to 30 people, when the stove caught fire from the grease that had been collecting under the burner from the previous owners’ cooking mess. My husband had to drag the oven through the house and into the backyard because we didn’t have anything to put the fire out. It was certainly a memorable experience.
Phoenix is a prime destination for the holidays, as it should be, and we have amazing weather during the holiday season. The bad news is, my own family lives here in Phoenix, which means we’re hosting. There is a bright side of having a holiday party at our home, however: it is a great opportunity to mark off all of those little repairs that have been piling up on the “honey-do” list! Nothing encourages a little elbow grease like having guests and family over for the holidays.
New Faucets In Phoenix During The Holiday Season Are All The Rage For Homeowners
During the months of October and November, we here at Robins Plumbing, Inc. get a huge increase in calls for plumbing upgrades and repairs. I guess I’m not alone in the stress of hosting holiday parties, thank goodness! This is the time of the year when we see an influx in requests for new faucets. Those faucets (the ones you’ve been meaning to replace for years) that have been leaking because they were installed in the 1980s called, and they want their style back….you know what I’m talking about. Our plumbers end up replacing and upgrading a lot of kitchen faucets and bathroom faucets in October and November in preparation for the holiday season.
New faucets are a small investment that can make a big impact to the look and feel of a room. With all of the new looks and technical advances in faucets these days, they can make a huge impact on the look and functionality of a room, especially in the kitchen. Imagine cooking for your family this holiday season with a new hands-free faucet, or a faucet that turns on just by touching it with the back of your hand. My favorite feature about the new faucets that have come into the market and gained such popularity is that I’m no longer getting sticky, nasty food on my faucet when I’m cooking! For more on how to pick a new kitchen faucet, check out my blog about the subject right here.
New Toilets In Phoenix During October And November Are A Popular Request For Plumbers
The other big request is new toilets — there is nothing worse than having a poorly-flushing toilet while you have family over to visit. I don’t know about you, but I do NOT want to plunge a toilet after one of our relatives has finished using it! That would scar me far worse than having my stove on fire as it is being dragged through the house while everyone laughs at me.
If you have a toilet that needs to be plunged, it might be time to end your pain and suffering with a replacement. There are a lot of easy options on the market for the average consumer, but you shouldn’t make this decision lightly. My biggest advice when purchasing a new toilet is this: do not go cheap! Cheap toilets are never worth the initial savings; they are shoddily built and have a terrible flush. We have a great blog to help you choose your next porcelain throne — check it out here.
