DIY Maintenance Tips For Your Nuvo H2O Filtration System

Learn About Some Easy Tips That Will Help You Maintain Your Nuvo H2O Filtration System

If you’re looking to improve the quality of your home’s water, a Nuvo H2O filtration system can be a great investment. These systems use a process called chelation to alter hard water minerals like calcium and magnesium. This results in softer water that is gentler on your skin, hair, and clothing. What is the best part about the Nuvo H2O Water Treatment System? You can easily maintain your Nuvo water treatment system yourself with just a few simple steps. Take a quick look at some great DIY maintenance tips for your Nuvo H2O filtration system.

Replace the Cartridge

Nuvo water treatment systems use a replaceable cartridge. Every six months or 20,000 to 50,000 gallons depending on the size of the system (or whichever comes first) the cartridges need to be replaced. To replace the cartridge, simply turn off the water supply to the Nuvo system. Next, relieve the pressure on the canisters, unscrew the filter housing, and remove the old cartridge. Give the canister a quick rinse and then insert the new cartridge. Make sure to remove the protective shipping plastic, that is properly aligned, and securely in place.  Finally, replace the filter housing and turn the water supply back on.  We have a step-by-step video on how to do this.

Check the O-Ring

There are 2 other things to check while you have the canister off. The first is the O-ring. The O-ring is the rubber ring that creates a water tight seal between the filter housing and the Nuvo H2O system. Over time, the O-ring can wear out or become damaged, which can cause leaks. Inspect the O-ring for signs of wear or damage and replace it if necessary.

Clean the housing

The 2nd thing to check is the distributor. The Nuvo water treatment system has a distributor that evenly distributes water over the cartridge built into the housing. The distributor can become clogged over time. Sediment and debris build up, and in some rare cases a build-up of crystallization from a lack of use can happen overtime. This build-up can reduce the system’s effectiveness. To clean the head unit, use a soft brush or cloth to clean the inside of the head unit. Make sure to remove any sediment or debris.

Monitor the System

In addition to these regular maintenance tasks, it’s important to monitor your Nuvo water treatment system for any signs of issues or problems. If there is a decrease in water pressure, discolored water, or other unusual symptoms, it may be a sign that the system needs to be serviced or repaired. In these cases, it’s best to contact a professional to help diagnose and fix the problem.

The 3-valve bypass

The 3-valve bypass is an optional bypass system that is recommended by the manufacturer and strongly recommended by Robins Plumbing. It allows you to perform maintenance on your Nuvo H2O system, and maintain water to your home or business. In the event that there is a problem with your Nuvo H2O system you can bypass the system to keep water flowing to your home until the issue can be fixed. By following these simple DIY maintenance steps, you can keep your Nuvo water treatment system running smoothly and effectively for years to come. With softer, cleaner water, you’ll enjoy the benefits of improved skin and hair health, longer-lasting clothing, and better-tasting water for your home.
