Options, Options, and more Options

Insinkerator has many options in residential disposals, commercial disposals, and instant hot water dispensers. For this article we are sticking to the residential options. They have 4 categories for residential garbage disposals. The first is the basic line known as the Badger series.  The second is the power series. This series reduces the sound and goes from galvanized to stainless steel grind chambers. It also offers up to a 1 horsepower motor. This series also introduces a 2^nd stage to the grinding.

This 2^nd stage offers a finer grind to the waste. The 3^rd series is the evolution series. This line of disposals introduces even quieter operation, along with their 3 and 4 stage grinding depending on the model. The evolution series also has an option for cover control. Cover control is the safest option. It requires the cover/stopper to be set in place before the disposal will turn on.

The 4^th Series

The 4^th option is the Advanced series. This is where the rubber really hits the road when it comes to dependability and problem-free disposals. I could get technical and start talking about the options that get us providers and installers excited like the EZ-connect power cord, but I don’t think that’s what you’re interested in. So, let’s get to what matters to you, the consumer who will be living with the disposal for the next several years.

The Pro 1250

The Advanced series Pro 1250 is as good as it gets when it comes to residential garbage disposals. The Pro 1250 is constructed with a stainless-steel chamber, and components. It has a massive 1.25 horsepower motor. Even without the amazing multi-grind technology the motor can put a hurting on almost anything you could shove down there. Now, adding the multi-grind technology and this thing turns your scraps into a puree before sending it down the drain and you’ll barely hear it with its Quiet Sound Seal Technology. When they say quiet, they mean QUIET. If you’re not paying attention to it when you flip the switch you may not realize you even turned it on. The Anti-vibration mount reduces the vibration through the sink.

This further reduces sound and vibrations on those stainless-steel sinks that like to vibrate with lower-level garbage disposals. The Pro series also has Anti-jam and auto-reverse technology. What does that mean? It means that it can sense any possibility of a jam and will automatically take measures to prevent or break through a possible jam. If you do have any issues, Insinkerator will send out one of their technicians who can evaluate and make any repair/replacements to your Pro 1250 and get you up and running again.  Many companies will claim to have a warranty that matches in years but read the fine print. Is that an in-home warranty or is does it not include labor?   The warranty is not the same from manufacturer to manufacturer.
